Description

The Perkin Elmer 241 polarimeter is used to measure the specific optical rotation of optically active samples. Such measurements are primarily made using the sodium D-line (589 nm), but other wavelengths are also available as the instrument incorporated both a sodium vapor and a mercury vapor lamp. Optical rotations in the range of +/- 80o can be measured directly.
