The KSV Langmuir Blodgett trough is used to form single and multi-layer structures on substrates using either constant pressure or constant velocity conditions. The most common application is the controlled deposition of self-assembled monolayers (SAMS). It is equipped with a force torsion balance for the measurement of deposition isotherms and an automated dipping arm for layer deposition.
